Starting off slow

Well after learning a bit from you guys on subwoofers, amps, and whatever else I have decided to start by getting a nice CD player, front and rear speakers,and maybe ...some very back speakers to start off.

Its a 96 jeep grand cherokee limited/maybe not edition. I heard some have speakers in the very back.

I only will have about 600 bucks or maybe a lil more to start. I want to take my precious time and make a sick system.

So could I get a few suggestions on what front and rear speakers to get? as like brands ....of course in your own opinion....

And also your opinion on a cd player....being that the jeep does not have one...what would you guys suggest.

Taking me a while but I am learning. I will make a foundation first...and then in the end I will add subwoofer.

Since I am not use to bass I don't think my ears will care...espeacially if you guys hook me up with some sick speakers and cd player.

I'd stick to either Eclipse or Pioneer for a head unit.

For a front stage - Rainbow, Memphis, Boston, etc...all make two-way passive component sets that will work fine for you. Read the sticky on the forum here about sound deadening, you'll want to order at least one roll of butyl-based deadener.

Plan to install two amplifiers, one for the front stage and another for whatever sub(s) you choose - although you could go with a single 4-channel and power the whole system off that if you don't need a ton of volume.

Subwoofers are the least critical part of the system, you have a lot of flexibility...my advice would be to look through some of the threads here, see what other people have had good luck with.
