starting a new job

After 6 years with a company I was told by a friend that another company (that he also applied to) was hiring for a similar position. I applied and with my experience was offered the job before it really sank in about changing. I've been on nights for the last 3 years and it has never meshed well with me or my home life. This new job is straight days M-F 6-2:30 and sounds pretty good so far.

I still feel uneasy leaving a job that I know for one with un-knowns.

any similar situations or advise would be appreciated

Just look forward to the change ina positive light. It's all about how you look at shit. Change is always good though, even if it's hard to see the good in it right now. It does feel like you're stepping in to the great unknown though haha I know how that goes. But at least you have a job lined up and secured, not just leaving your job with no solid employment plans, ie: layed off/ fired.

Good luck on your new venture!

I did the same thing after working for a company for over 8 yrs and parking at the same parking space for a long time, but change is always for the better
how'd it work out for you? regret leaving?

Yeah I try to be positive. Had some shyt go down over the last year or two that really had me in a seeing everything in a negative light. and made life less awesome haha just being upbeat and looking forward to the future is a much better approach, IMO.

To me the change in work schedule would be worth it. I worked the night shift after I graduated, for a few years, and it was nice at the time, but as I got older I really wanted a "normal" day shift position. I ended up getting a decent job that is M-F 0545-1430 and couldn't even imagine having to work nights again. It took a little time to to adjust to waking up at 440, but it is so nice getting out in the early afternoon, specially the summer time! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Not to mention I don't ever have to worry about traffic. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Good luck with the new job!
