Is this starter cable ok to use as my connection from batery to batery and from battery to amps please. I would be buying the 60mm one ?

it's fine. make sure the wire can handle the current draw(amps) you require.

thanx, I have gone for the 60mm one which can handle up to 415 amps and will connect my hifonics amp direct to battery with this

also will a 300 anl fuse be ok for the connection between bat 1 and battery 2 and a 300 anl fuse for the connection between hifonics 2608 amp and battery please

since you fuse the WIRE, 300A ANL on 1/0 or equiv. should be fine.

Good point. I was meaning to address this matter as my batteries are very close to each other. They are less than 20 inches apart more like 15 inches from each other so do I still need 2 fuses ?

Is there any metal (ground) that is within 15 inches of the positive post of either battery? If so, there is still a posibility of shorting. If not, then I would say that you are OK without one.

Just remember that a $10 fuse is the best insurance known to man.

Yes, the grounds are within 15inches of the battery terninals. So I should put 2 fuses then just to be on the safe side ? Also, would that be two 300 anl fuses on that same wire ?

Yes I would go for 2 300a ANL fuses. Get them as close to the terminal as you can.

As close to the battery positive terminal as you can. Sometimes that is an inch or so, sometimes it has to be longer. Depends on the install. That goes for any wire coming off any positive post of every battery.

If the wire you are fusing is between a battery and an amp, still fuse as close to the battery terminal as possible. You would get almost no protection if it was fused at the amp end.
