standing waves with square box???

hey guys im pretty much done building my box and my boss and the guy from beamriders said that i may ahve a problem with standing waves or sound cancelation caouse the box is square it doesnt have a slanted front or back is this truE?

yes a perfectly square box is not ideal to have.

sorry i didnt mean square its a box from the stickies 2.6 cu at 32 hertz its rectangular i just meant that the walla were straight p and down not slanted

He is quite correct, but you won't notice it if you don't know what standing waves are.

Oh. No, you'll be fine. Seeing as a sphere is the ideal enclosure shape, anything else has the chance for standing waves.

the wavelength of an 80hz wave is ~530cm @ 70* F. Unless your box is over 5 meters long, im pretty sure you won't have a problem with standing waves
