I don't think you would know good sound if it punched you in the face so your words mean little.

With all the information on the internet and all the things we know about drivers you refuse just like a idoit to see that the drivers on the market now far surpass those drivers for less money.

I repeat a direct quote from you SQ speakers are snake oil but yet somehow jl doesn't apply here.

It's a straight-up insult to all the engineers and Pioneers that dedicated their life to to improve the Sonic ability of transducers you remind me of those flat earthers let's see all of NASA's engineers are liars and fakes and we never went to the Moon

In sure sundowns can sound **** good with the right set up. Just was a bit too much for me - the banged hard , my van would have fallen apart by now with the sound I was getting out of my box. I just wanted something a bit toned down and I already had some JL's so was a fan to begin with.

Considering how the sd woofers are designed I see no reason the jl sounds better other than the alignment you chose. Fact is the jl ported boxes for the w7s have some serious delay..

I had a w7 12" and sold it , I like the w6v3 - I have 2 12"s in a van and a 10" in my other car .

Again. I don't see anything special about the w6. Matter fact they are modeled after the w7..

There is subject thought and objective thought.

If I tell you X driver is supposed to sound the best and it does sound decent you're going to be inclined to believe that it's the best sounding driver.

If I show you facts as to why it sounds good then you can make your own decisions a to which drivers truly sounds better. You have factually evidence as to which drivers us going to sound more realistic.

I'm not saying the jl doesn't sound good because they do but it's strange that people are so subjective. Most p expletive simply don't understand that different damping sounds different. Some swear flat I s better some swear boosted is better etc etc..

It's kind of like the saying " beauty is in the eye of the beholder" , except in this case it's the ears. I remember when I thought kickers sounded good, lol. I respect all opinions and too be honest I wouldn't mind having a set sundown again to experiment some more , I will probably get a pair again, I don't last too long before I move things around again, lol

I remember when I first started. I decided that what people said I'd take with a grain of salt. People are often Ill informed and Spread the word with good intention.

Probably should have been more specific. I meant more of output in the right box. Cuz I have the JL in a custom made ported box but not ideal most likely. The JL sounds great, there bass is always very pleasing. And I understand you pay for r and d but there's also a limit because for ALOT cheaper you can get probably 90% or more close to the JL

Nothing wrong with JLs. They just arent worth the money. A 12W7 is a 300 dollar woofer to me because 400 puts you in another league with the smaller companies. And the W7 mounting system blows ***.

JL has its very good points

Thier customer service is outstanding

They still build stuff in house unlike every other brand that's been around forever

The RIPs tech is special

Yes the retail price is stupid but who's isn't.

The W7 is going on 15 years or more without a revision and still sell a ton

The W6 is super easy to make flat

They don't need a reactor for power

The ZR800 is in a class of its own

The cons

All the tweeters are weak

They have a lot of low end stuff but that makes customers. It's the nature of being a huge brand.

The recommended box specs leave way to much on the table but that's for warranty purposes
