SSA Xcon 18 in Jeep

Im about to order an ssa xcon 18 and had a few questions on boxes. Vehicle is an 03 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

SSA gives a recommended box

7.65 Cubic FT @ 30hz

Should I use there recommended box? Would sub up and port back be better?

Im not looking to compete, I'm looking for something thats louder/sounds the best to the ear.

Use optimal box specs and subs up port back, allow room for subs to beathe

Great sub and it should do very well in your Jeep for sure. Enclosure specs will depend on your output goals, the maximum dimensions you have for an enclosure and the power the sub will be on.

Im going to use ssa's optimal box but mount the sub on top i think.
