OP I'll let ya know how I like my zv3 on Tuesday when we test it out. Will be testing on 2k and 4k :0

So comparing the Xcon and Jbl , the Jbl would have better sq? by much?

I don't have any experience with the JBL so I can't say for sure, but the xcon is a good balance between SQ and SPL so it's quite possible the JBL is better in terms of SQ.

We testing it in a bigger box. Like 3.75 cubes? Tuned to like 36 37 I believe. Just throwing it on a box til mine gets built. I'm going for the lows.

Do a search here and you'll find plenty of people who will say the same thing. I've never owned one so I cant really speak on it so that's why i Underlined Heard . But I absolutely agree with the statement that its all in the box. To my knowledge, DD's are SPL oriented and Alot of people that run SPL tune there boxes high so maybe that's why People have that perception of DD.

From say 1 - 10 scale , what would you give the xcon sound quaility? can it compare to the w 7? Never heard a Jbl Gtimkii but always heard good things on here , saying its a great sound quality sub.

Going after sound quaility and some spl , anyone have any input on these? Have them , heard them , personal experience with them? Other recommended subwoofers?

since you are primarily after SQ, I would not place any of those in that category...now, if you were looking for SPL that sounds OK...maybe. What amp are you using?

I've owned 2 GTi MKii's and have installed another 7 in other cars, from 10's to 15's. I would DEFINITELY choose the MKii's over all that have been mentioned in this thread. GREAT SQ and they get loud also. Just about the perfect sub.

Never used sundown or ssa sub but have used most SQL subs like eclipse ti,idmax, tdx ,all jl series, arc flatline, etc...loved the jbl as it along with diamond tdx seems to take the most power and still sound good and get loud ..but I still love of the idmax best

Ok so the z laughs at 2k and handled pretty d@mn good on 4k

Had Xcon and Z, both in proper box on 1000rms, in my experience the z was a bit (not much) louder than the Xcon. the Xcon had the better sq. the xcon will require a bigger box to work properly. Both subs hit the lows with authority.
Never owned the jbl or DD but I've heard the same thing about DD. they are spl subs and don't do we'll on the lows.

Chimpmunk how do the Xcon ans Z compare to a SI Mag ver.3? as far as Sq and Loudness..I really like how the Mag zounds hitting the lows and just flat out able to play any kind of music and sounding Good doing it.
