Finally arrived today! Testing will begin shortly. And before anyone asks, no pricing is not set, we do not have a release date and the T/S parameters are not finalized. So with that out of the way, here are a few pictures of the prototype. There is a few possible changes that could still occur. So here are a few shots of the real one, (the teaser pictures were mostly the concept driver prior to this prototype), the silver basket 12 is the first Icon prototype I use daily in my car, and the other 8" driver placed for scale is the leader of the segment, SS RL-i 8, and a 1st run Icon 10 for fun too. No, that dust cap will not go to production, it is a blank one for testing.

I will get out the measuring tape later. Need to get cranking on a few boxes to test with. A member on SSA offered to let me test in a TL box he has.

Edit: The focus of this driver is much like the Icon. Sound quality first, with good excursion, solid power handling, no nonsense look or bling, and hefty build, with good clean output.

Well the RL-i 8, price withstanding has been the beefy 8 class leader for a while now, so it is the perfect unit to test against to see how our 8 stands up. But there is already one change that will occur before production to get more out of our 8 that has been decided on.

Gotcha....The pdx5 only produces ~325w...curious if it were worth waiting for this or using my eJunks.

Gotcha....The pdx5 only produces ~325w...curious if it were worth waiting for this or using my eJunks.

I wish I had a concrete release date, but we have seen so many times what happens when one is made. As we are a growing company things are not as fast for us as maybe it would be for an RF per say. But this is huge for us because it is a solid existence of another speaker line that we badly need.
