Ssa Icon 15"

I was looking into getting a package deal of a ssa ICON 15 dual 2ohm and a sundown sae-1000d. I am interested in anyones opinions on this sub and what they are using to power it, i know that sundown are great amps but i am mostly interested in peoples opinions on the ICON 15"? I am wannting to use this subs as a dialy pounder, any help would be aprreciated, thanks

Ihear It's Gear More Towards Sq And Has Decent Output, My Only Problem Is That For The Price You Can Get A Q, Which Has Excellent Sq And Has Alot More Output At The Same Price

i've heard a sealed 12" icon ran off 1000w and really liked it. very good sq with decent output.

i believe the Icon can also use a slightly smaller box...than the Q

yeah it can, but my box for my Q is all that big either, its 2.2 cuft, with a lb of polyfill in there leaving plenty of room in my accord coupe

Dont get me wrong the ICON seems like a quality woofer, but I think the 7 mm xmax difference will essential to low end extension

very win win. the icon does get lowwww. it sounded really good IMO.

it was probably the best sq sub I've owned....yet I'm always buying for spl.

Waiting to see what the shipping is on it, I think u may be right about being able to get a Q for the same price, i will know once i get the shipping quote. And as for the amp i could always just use my memphis 1000D and not get the sundown 1000D.

i personally dont like the sound of the q, sounded muddy for me. But thats just me, i have yet to hear the icon so i cant make a direct comparison
