SSA Icon 15" vs. DC Sounds Level 4

Well I've been lurking around these forums for awhile just trying to learn some stuff because I'm not very experienced with car audio. Right now I have some 12" Kicker D2 Cvr's and a zx750.1 (I'm aware these are not the best subs lol...). Anyways, I am going to put together a new system soon and I have a few things in mind. First, I am basically going for a SQL set up. Thats where these subs come in. I haven't heard much about the DC Level 4 other than it is loud. The Icon has caught my attention just from all the good reviews it gets from people. I'm also considering a 15" Fi Q because i have heard they are great and similar in SQ to the Icon. So what I'm asking is, How does the Icon compare to the Level 4 in terms of SQ and SPL?

Oh, and also, which ever sub I choose will most likely be pushed by an AQ 1200d, SAE 1000d or possibly SAZ1500d. The box will probably be around 4 cubes and 32hz.

I am pretty sure the Icon and the Q beat the DC lvl 4 for price point. You can't really go wrong with the Q or the Icon, they are both nice subs. I have 0 experience with the DC though, so I can't speak on that.

The AQ1200 or saz1500 would be perfect amps.

I can say that im in love with my DC lvl 4 I am very impressed with what my 1 12 can do, Deff alot better sounding and louder than my TC2K. But also l have no expieriance with the Icons, but as you I have heard noting but good things about them.

I beleive that the SSA Icon is geared more towards SQ than SPL, which the DC lvl 4 is

IMO not much of a comparison, just what are you looking for?

Yeah I would probably say I'm more into SQ.

I would probly go with the Icon if this was the case, esp is you have 1200 watts

I would go with the Icon in this. From what I have read the Icon gets just as loud but hits the lows better. Both great woofers but the ICON I think would be a better pick

Haven't heard anything bad about any of those 3 subs, but the guys from SSA are probably the best to deal with customer service wise.

15" Q would wang nicely in 4 cubes @ 32hz. Run that set up in the GF's car off 1k and it's clean and hits LOW.
