would my two rl-p 12's in a 3.5 cube box tuned to around 33hz be louder than a single 9512f that loudman is selling

off of a bxi1606 amp. the dd will have more airspace and i could try some of the newer box designs witht he flared slot port or aeros, all of this would be front firing unless i cant get it loud this way but i do not like the volume my rkl-p's reach. in a rear firing setup in my old car they ripped it apart but its just not loud anymore need something more. any input is appreciated.

think for a port and subs front firing then sealed off fromt he trunk would need a higher tuned box than 33hz? just trying to figure out how to get louder witht he front firing and not sure what to do

If you have the power and the proper install, I'm gonna have to say it might be the DD. I had a 9515d in 5 cubes ported and tuned to 36 Hz and did a 141.2 @ 56 Hz (tone) with a Treo SSX 1500.1 wired at 4 ohms. With my RL-p 18 sealed in 5 cubes with 2k (from RF t30001bd), I did a 137.x @ 32 Hz on music. The DD was louder, but much more boomy. The RL-p was a whole lot smoother and much more musical and got low.

IMHO, I'd stick with the RL-p's. They can get quite loud, don't need as much power, and sound a heck lot better.

Higher frequencies are louder

I went from 2 15" RL-P's to a single AQ 15" and it was pretty close to the ear. Never had either set up metered though. RL-P's do play smooth and a little tighter, but I eventually went with 2 AQ's and never looked back...
