SS RL-P or W6v2?

well ive been thinking about this for a long time now. I have a 2.0 cu ft 12' ported box. Currently running just an old RF punch. I got RF 800a2.. very oldskoo amp.. can handle 800rms at 2ohms and 1100 at 4 ohms. My all-time favorite sub i've always wanted was actually the brahmas but it seems like no one can get ahold of em. well i decided i wanted to go single 12' RL-P... as i heard very good things about em.. . i only have $180 right now... but im pretty desparate to get a new sub... i dun wanna wait... my friend has a W6v2 that he could probably sell me... he got it for $265 new... so could probably sell it to me for 180 maybe...a RL-p is $250+shipping i assume (unless someone knows a good price for em) I'm aiming for more on the SQ side.. but still want good SPL.. my question is... should i go for the SS or JL? People have been pretty biased about JL saying that its the best... but i truly dont think so.. and i wanna be different. I never heard the rl-p's so i really dunno.. wut is ur input?

I normally dont say this, but I've owned a 12w6v2 and I've heard plenty of setups.

On what little I know, I know that the JL is a great driver and sounds amazing, I would personally pick the JL. Only issue would be power handling, 800 or 1100 is too much for a 12w6v2 in my opinion, you could toss a pair in there and run it at 4ohms and have some fun though

I know it's unfair because I have no experience with the Rl-P but I know you wont be unsatisified with the JL, w00t.

I hate JL, this is one of the FEW times I will ever condone buying one.

i own a w7 and the rl-ps, the w 7 is better, the rl-ps are excellent. never had a w6 tho.

when u say the w7 is better, how? the sq? from wut i recollect.. the pple that had w7s were hella loud and im not exactly looking for SUPER loud... cuz im only running 300w ported and im amazed on how efficient it is. so maybe running like 700 on a sl-p would be great i assume... anyways can i see a pic on the condition of ur sl-p?

if anyone has any other opinions, feel free. please.

To me, it's not even a fair comparison.

I use to run 2 13W6V2's and they sounded great. got loud off as little as 400 watts.

For the utmost SQ the JL's will probably win, but they can't take the power the RL-ps can and probably wont match the output levels either, you just need to figure out your needs for this install/

The RL-p will take more abuse/power and have more output, but it's gonna lag behind the W6V2 for SQ ability. For musical purposes I'd prefer the W6, and if you were more interested in output, I'd go for the RL-p.

The RL-p will take all that RF has to dish out no problem.
