SR6500 comparable Focal line?

I currently have Polk Audio SR6500's. The tweeters are amazing, but I feel like the midbass is a beat weak in the lower end. I have this backed up by an SR124 subwoofer, but I am looking for something new. A pair of 8" subs or a single 10" sub to save weight and some newer/slighly better components up front.

I was just wondering what a comparable component set in the focal line would be.

Thanks guys. The k2p seem to be more efficient than my sr6500's which is good and I've read that the lower range has more punch. How are the tweeters? I like how smooth the sr6500 ring radiator tweeters are. They are not even close to harsh at 0 att. I have momo's in my other car and the tweeters in those are a little harsh at -6 att because of the different design.

keith, maybe this will help in your decision.....

Thanks. I agree that the sr6500's lack the midbass punch. My momo's have better punch at the expense of clarity. I couldn't imagine improving on the SR tweeters though.

I have a lot of tuning to do still so I am weighing my options. I would love to get the Utopia BE No 6's but I think its a bit excessive right now. Maybe further down the line when I redo my car's interior.

I have completely deadened my door with several layers of raamat and ensolite. Are there any other tips for getting better midbass out of my sr6500 woofers? I have them crossed at 65hz. Any lower and they seem to lose composure.

They are powerd with 100W each through an alpine pdx-4.100. Should I move away from the class D amp for SQ?

Hopefully in the future I will be able to experience some new comps just to get a better idea of how the SR6500's compare (they are my first set of components.) But they seem to have a pretty decent kick, they are not shaking my rear view or anything but to me they sound good and I don't have the doors deadened or sealed up yet.

I also still have a lot of tuning to go but I believe currently I have them down low at 63hz with 18db slope (no subs installed yet) then up top I think they are at 4khz with 18bd slope and the tweeters at 3.2khz with 18db slope. This sounded a bit better to me than what I had before with them both crossed at 4khz and 18db slope. I am powering mine from a Sundown Sax100.4 and at times I would like a little more volume but I think subs and some good deadening will help with that, as well as spending some more time tuning and tweaking everything.

Of all the stuff I have read on the SR6500's it always seemed that they were very smooth but no the loudest and generally laid back, this is the closest thing to a negative comment I have seen on them.

Agreed. They are very smooth and detailed but they don't seem to have the volume and are a bit weak down low. I think i need to play with the tuning a bit more on the lower end.
