SQL sub

Id go with an image dyanmics idmax they hit pretty hard but i have heard that when they are mounted in large enclosed boxes, they can nail every note. i still put all my speakers in slot ports though just because i like the frequecy response that i get from my hcca in a 2.25 cubic foot memphis braced box. it sounds good and can still drop low as hell. i agree with others too. A w6v2 in a big box would hit real deep but might not hit as high as u want. Treo makes an excellent sub, the tsx, or ssx sound good but are pricey. they sure can hold a shitload of power. i wouldnt trust the durability of alpine speakers. i had 4 12 inch type e's and blew them with 800 watts, then i blew my type r running 4 ohm at 300 watts (the rms of type-r's, they have more power in the new type-r's so maybe they can handle more. you definitely want to look at the rms of the sub and if its much smaller than half of its maximum wattage i"d pass up on it the alpine type X can handle a good bit but then again it can hold a lot more power

Every thing you just said is questionable...

Alpine Type-r, RE SE, Fosgate P3, Sound Splinter RL-i, RL-p, Adire Shiva, Adire Koda, MTX 5500, Kicker CVR...

what about the rl-i's untouchable?
80
Yeah, you could throw those in there too. I'd also recommend an Atlas 15", however, I believe the recommended box size ported, is somewhere around 3.5-4^3 tuned to 28 Hz? That is not required, as people have them in significantly smaller boxes that that, but I think I remember Chad telling thats what the optimal box was...

Or like the others said... W6v2...by far one of the best sounding subs that I have heard...

I even would recommend Adire Shivas... I had them for about 4 months, and absolutely loved every minute of them... Very nice mix of loudness and clarity...

I'd recommend the Shiva...love mine...although they're tough to find on the used market //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Would be interesting to see how the new drivers do.

RE SE,
can you even consider them SQL? My memphis PRs got louder than SEs and I was running a Profile Ap1200 @ 4ohms which the SEs were on a Hifonics 1500 @ 1ohm. So I had half the power on mine. SQ is awesome though.

I'd love to try out a new Shiva.
