Rl-P Cheaper, not as good.Avalanche - Buy mine...But still not as good IMO.

05 XXX - Ineffient compared to the mag and not as good IMO

Brahma - Almos the same price, I wouldnt deal with adire if you payed me.

w7 - Substantially more expensive. Biggest they make is 13"

Q - Cheaper, about as loud, reviews say it doesnt sound quite as good

IDMax - A little cheaper, not as loud, AWSOME SQ though, pretty efficent as well.

Have you tired a Q or IDmax or even a XXX?

BTW the tests also proved the Q was louder below 40hz and the Mag was louder above 45-50hz I believe, which doesnt make either driver all around louder, just both exceed at different things, some people want a flatter response, some people dont care about that shit and just want something that wangs chung below 35hz for they're lil jon or what ever.

I've only heard a few of the woofers I mentioned. I own an avalanche, used to own a brahma, and have heard a xxx one time in a shoddy install, sadly enough. Other than that I'm going by popular opinion in terms of what is comarable. All the woofers mentioned have been known for high SQ and have a pretty long throw. Are they duplicates of a mag at a cheaper price, NO. However, that's not really what comparable means. Most would agree are all in the same league in terms of subbass reproduction, more than close enough install and overall system goals will be the determining factor on which to chose. He wanted something cheaper, that could still be considered SQL, I'm sorry, but the mag and q aren't the only game in town, nor are they the cheapest (especialy the mag).

As far as the 12 challenge, IT IS NOT A BE ALL END ALL TEST! Most of what dicatates a woofers F/R is the box you put it in, Try putting a q in ported box tuned to 55 hz and see what kind of low end you get out of it! As far as your comment towards me being biased, I mentioned lots of products that are known for being compenent subwoofers, lots of differnent brands. I fail to see how showing alternatives to the mag makes me biased in any way. I guess if by biased against the mag I didnt' give the typical lemming forum goer answer of "mags the best no comparison, save up, by 5!"

In terms of me being biased "like before", I will say you still seem to still riding the forum boners quite hard and more than willing to jump down anyones throat who wont' say "mag FTW!!!!" in any situation. Hows this next time I'll just pretend no other woofers outside of what FI and SI make exist, think that'll keep you quiet?

You mentioned all of those subs, but then if you look at the quote, its CBFryman's and he is stating his opinion on all those subs you mentioned and Campbell was asking him if he has heard all those. Dont know if you all have previous beef but I dont think he was referring to you, but I will let him speak for himself.

I wondered, but he said biased like before, he had an issue with me being "biased" a while back on a similar sort of thread. I poined out that mags arent' quite the best when it comes to price/perf. A fact that I hear being touted alot now, sadly enough, since FI has started picking up, since it's manf. direct. Think it may have been another "mag alt" thread, lol.

Loud enough to totally overpower your front stage - and to my ears, sounds better than both the Mag and the Q. If I was actually going to spend $500'ish on a driver, this would be the only option for me...

What didn't you like about the avalanche and xxx vs the mags? I accidentaly hit 7, btw, that was supossed to be a w6.

They are XBL^2...so output drops substantially over 50Hz. Now I am a stronge beleive that subwoofer is just that a SUBwoofer...but in a car environment you should be able to cross your subs over at 60-70Hz with out them cutting back on output on their own.

w6's sound good, really good. but their output just isnt up to par with the Mags and XXX's. Can they get loud, hell yeah, do they have as much SPL potential. Simply put, no.

Ive heard a few IDmax Setups, played with an XXX, currently own two mags and an Avalanche. My Q information is bassed on other's test...as I said. About as loud as the Mag (meaning they are in the same SPL category) but reviews say it doesnt sound as good.

Well see the thing is, ppl looking to get a mag now can get a 15 for $375, quite a bit cheaper than the original $500 they cost. So knowing this, would you still pay that $500 for the NS Series instead of picking up a MAg at $375 (which could go even a little bit lower).

Okay this is confusing the hell out of me lol So many ppl saying Q's, then Mags, now Q's! I've gone back and forth like 4 times already lol

So, why would you recommend the Q's for my application?
