SQ subwoofer options?

So I was checking out Rainbow's line of subwoofer's today and it seemed very shocking that their vandium line is only rated for 350Rms if I recall. I am guessin that this is wayyyy underated but getting to my question......................has any one heard these subs and if so are they really worth paying so much for. I mean the JL 8w7 cost less (on ebay) than the vandium line yet it will handle 1000RMS. The reason I am asking is that I'm looking for a 10" or 8" strictly sq subwoofer. Trying to keep the price under $300 and everyone so far has led me too the rl-i which is what I'm almost set on. Are their any other subwoofer in my price range that are around 400-500RMS watts that have better sq than the rl-i?

I'm sorry it doesnt....what I meant by all the stuff about the Rainbow is basically do they sound that good to pay $400 for a 350RMS subwoofer?

Well we are going in the wrong direction here. I never metioned that I cared about how loud it gets at all. I want sq and wanted to have some opinions of the rainbow subs or maybe some other suggestion that would be better than the rl-i.

2002 SVT Lightning

HU: DEH-P880PRS

Sirius-coming for x-mas

Front Stage: Rainbow SLC 265

Front Stage Amp: Alpine MRV-T420

Rear Fill: Pioneer TS-A687OR

Subwoofer: RL-i maybe 2(Soon!)

Sub Amp: Dont know need suggestions

Wire: Street wire power and ground, RF fused distributions bloack, Stinger ANL fuse holder

wow i love that!!!

I personally own and run IDQs, (although I have them up for trade currently)

They are some of the cleanest woofers I've ever owned, right ahead of the rl-p in SQ, and they are very efficient, they will get rather loud off of about 200w a piece

you have them ported don't you. I am stealing this cats thread a lil bit, but thats ok. I currently have a 15" IDQ in a 1.55cuft sealed box you think it will get louder while maintaing its sq if i go ported?

Well rl-p will not work because its not a 10" 8"......how much difference is their between the rl-i and rl-p sq speaking. And I am in love with Image Dynamics the only problem is I want new.......but have yet to find somewhere that sells IDQ.......do those even come in 10's?

I believe they do, but they are expensive retail, woofersetc sells them I believe, the price is somewhat outrageous though

I've never run an rl-i, so I'm really unsure of the comparison

Haha, my stuff is still up for trade, so let me know

If I were to buy an idq 10" about how many watts would it safely handle in a sealed box? I know ID sais 250 but somthin tells me a little more would do no harm
