SQ Subs?

yea i thought the icons were suposed to sound pretty good.

I do like my icons very much. Just want to upgrade with something that will be able to handle the amps wattage. At times the Subs get that "burned glue smell" and yes i turned down the gains so it doesn't happen.

How did you leap from wanting something that will handle the amplifier wattage, to wanting 'SQ' subs?
SQ is a term that is way over used these days.

+1 to your entire reply. Wanting something to handle the power vs. SQ are two completely different things. I think the original postee might have meant SPL instead of SQ.

Honestly, I am not sure if you are really after a driver that is meant for SQ, if you are wanting to throw that much more power over the Q's or the Icons.

If so, you will have to spend big dollars and look towards the LMS-Ultra or RL-s or RE XXX. But there is a point when the level of output reached has passed any kind of semblance of blending with your front stage that sound quality is no longer part of the equation.
