as for the idmax, i thought they only came in 12's, they also have a 10?

My suggestion, assuming no budget, would be Focal 27KX. One of the cleanest subs out there and I've seen them be cranked up and still sound great.

Very nice looking sub, and I doubt you'd see another person with one. That motor is just puuuuuuuuuuurdy. Too bad it's like $650 plus shipping from woofersetc.com

elemental designs 11Ov.2 sub, it will be more than enough, and throw it in a ported box and presto. cant beat the 5 year warranty and free shipping. i have the 13Ov.3 (12" black sub) in a ported box, and i will tell you, its the best sound, its gets really loud with out drowning out my highs.

I vote for the Diamond D6. My D3 10" has great sq, so iwould guess the D6 would be that much better.

its just that i've had plenty of experience with ED, and honestly IMO I wouldn't suggest that CO. with all the good ones out there now.

P.S. A 5 year warranty doesen't mean anything if they don't tank behind it
