Sq, Sql, Spl... Wtf?

so it seems like everyone that recommends subs says the quieter one is for SQ and the louder ones are for SPL. I want subs that sound good and get loud. so i guess that is SQL. So, I just don't know what kind of subs to get.

What I want...

I am looking for 2 12" subs. i was thinking of the SX, but it seems like everyone says that it is an SPL sub. also, with the GB, there is only dual 2 ohm, so i would need a new amp. i am not looking to spend a lotta cash (thats why i am trying to sell my current system) so i would like to keep my amp. I like the JL w6v2's but the whole not spending a lotta cash thing kinda hurts that one. what else is out there? IDMax? Brahma? and where is a good place to buy em?

I want to have something that is louder than my current set-up, but doesn't sacrifice sound quality. i think that my subs to a good job getting loud and sounding good. or should i go with one 15" sub? I am not opposed to getting a ported box, as long as it isn't going to just be loud and crappy sounding. What I have...

Kenwood Excelon KAC-X810D pushing 2 12" Xtants in a sealed box. they are in a 93 explorer but i might be selling that for a car after the winter. so a huge box is probably out. and btw, i am just looking for a daily driver, I don't do any comps.

What's your budget?

How much power are you wanting to run?

What type of box do you want...ported? sealed?

i guess my budget depends on if i sell my subs or not... lets say ~$400

my amp now puts out 1000 x 1 @ 1 ohm. i don't really want to buy a new amp, so i can save money. also, i am not planning on upgrading the electrical system as i might be selling my truck.

and i don't really have a preference as to sealed or ported. as long as the sub sounds good in the enclosure it's all good to me.

Truck? How big of a sub can you fit? If physical size isn't an issue, I'd sugguest a Stereo Integrity Magnum. Otherwise.... =\
