SQ/SQL recommendations on 1500-2000 watts tops

I don't see much whining, there lol. I'm willing to take recommendations just as much as the next guy. I also have to remember that this setup will most likely be sealed since I can't really sacrifice all of my cargo space to port the Flatlyne. Seeing as how you have yours in IB, have you played around with sealed and ported on the Flatlyne as well?
I actually don't even have the flatlyne hooked up in my car, and I have never tried an IB setup before. This will be my first time haha. I have seen the flatlyne hooked up in a T-line, and a sealed box personally, and I like it a lot. I actually have a picture of a box I ran mine sealed in for a few days haha.

Quite fancy setup there lol. I can see why you probably didn't use that for the shows. Looking forward to seeing what you think of yours when it's fully set up. I keep trying to design a box in WinISD so I can see what parameters I'm looking at, but the durn thing keeps crashing on me. Can anyone chime in on what a Flatlyne 15 needs sealed and ported @ 35Hz?

*EDIT* Found them on the IA forum:

Flatlyne Series

* 12" DVC2 & DVC4 ohm

* closed 28.3 - 39.6 liter

* ported 42.5 - 56.6 liter

* 15" DVC2 & DVC4 ohm

* closed 42.5 - 56.6 liter

* ported 85 liter

I'm sure I'll love it haha. Just need to get the **** thing set up. I will have everything ready hopefully by SBN this year.

Guys,

Thanks for the suggestions. I am going to try and find someone pushing a Flatlyne, possibly the ZCON's and I'd really like to find some Dayton's but...not going to be wicked easy local, I don't think.

I did a setup in a Benz about 6 years ago with 2 12" IDMAX's, each on about 450w if I remember correctly and it sounded great, really complimented the interior stages without making the luxury vehicle sound like a far box. I can imagine that the IDMAX's haven't gotten worse in 6 years?

2x 15"'s in the back of a Versa sounds really fun but...haha. I had some Diamond's in the day, they were nice, decent amps about 6 years ago as well. The new RE SX's sound good? I had two 12's in my Mazda on 2x US AMPS Merlin's ported at 33hz I believe and they sounded wonderful...6 years ago haha.

The Arc flatline is close to the IDMax, and if you are going dayton, avoid the new Ultimax, the specs are amazing, but build quality is absolutely terrible.
Yeah I've ran several set ups with idmax. Ran dual 12 arcs for a bit but prefer idmax.

Ho is what I mwant when saying dayton. I came real close to buying a pair back when they were on sale.

Got any juicy details on this? Google isn't coming up with anything convincing so I'd like to know where this "terrible build quality" sentiment is coming from. I did see one review on parts-express that mentioned the spider came unglued.

Same thing happened to ny buddy, the coil came from the factory with a slight rub. They also don't use ca glue ib the triple joint and just use woody which is a big no no, which is what ultra audio also does.

So it's two known failures. Dayton isn't some fly-by-night company on their initial run of speakers. I would expect this to be addressed quickly and painlessly with a warranty exchange.

You would think, we tried taking it back, and they said no because we didn't have the original box with it. I understand in some cases, but in this case I find that to be silly reason.

Kinda seemed based off what I remember reading from the diyma thread its just not worth running. Titanic and ho are better options. I will cover my six by saying I haven't read it recently and could be mistaken.

12" Flatlyne run off of a PG Xenon x1200.1...should handle that pretty swell, no? Good amount of overhead and I can dial her back some.

I have a Xenon 1200.1 laying around and it seems to put out pretty clean power at 4, 2 and 1, tis why I ask.

not sure about running a 12" IDMAX off of it, I like the idea of two IDMAX 10"s but...idk.

I also have an older USAMPS MD2D which puts out a nice 1000 @ 2ohm's, really liked that amp running two 12" RE SX's back in the day.

Idmax will take it. I've ran that setup before. Also ran 1700 at a max for a few months. Had orion 2500 on a pair for over a year.

Flatlyne seems to get good reviews. Not sure on power for those. I'd like to try one out but they are a bit pricey for me right now

the ole 2500D, mmm. I have a fried one in my shop that I'll probably never part with, such a beefy little powerhouse.

I'm thinking 2x IDMAX 10"s or just the 1x 12" Flatlyne, both ported at this point. Probably run them off that MD2D unless I can find something even more efficient and clean to power the setup. I forgot how inefficient those Xenon's can be. I'll be running a stock alternator with a deka battery under the hood and probably a spare in the hatch. I don't want to completely overhaul my little DD.
