SQ/SPL Sub

I am looking at running an SQ/SPL setup (I know that's contradicting). I am a home audio audiophile and am very with scan speak/etc in this area but not so in car drivers (not that I am looking to use them here that's just my background) I need a sub that sounds good but can also be turned up loud when we are at the lake playing volleyball and what not. Budget is about 700 for amp, 1300 for 2 10 or 12 inch subs that can have about .9-1.3cuft in my truck.

so basically your looking for sql i would say go with some 2 10"w7's and a 1000/1 or something like that but i would go with 2 10" they will sound better but wont get as loud as 2 12"

how bout 2 12" id max's or D9's on an ED nine.1. also since its going to be a small box add polyfill to the box and that will help a some

I don't get how you can think they sound better.

Considering you're wrong. A 10" will not have a quicker responce than a 12", 15", 18".

Cone size does not effect cone speed.

Agreed, I would say a 10" wouldn't sound as good as 2x 12" or on 15" because a 10" has to move more (more excursion) to get the low freqs out and there for the cone less efferent and efficiency equals quality, usually....

You may want to consider getting a single 12" sub -- two won't really yield that much more output.

Simple over expectations. No one should expect the extension of a 10, to match two 12's or a single 12 for that matter.

Just dispelling the age old myth, that 10's are better for sound quality due to their faster response.

well im just saying my opinion thats it i believe they sound better i like there response more i dont like how boomy 12's and 15's are everyone is entitled to there opinion in car audio know ones ears like the same thing
