so i just bought some type r subs (1022d). now i was plannin on buying the type x components for the front and a 4 way amp 4x85 hifonic to push the mid bass and the components. well, the type x 5.25 are rated at 60w and the mid bass 6.5 are 75w. should i jsut go with 6.5 components which are also rated at 75w? and on another note, any otehr suggestions for speaker combos up front? type x are roughly $200 and i want to keep it around that price.

You can attenuate the output of your amp to only deliver the desired wattage level //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Just because an amp can give you X, Y, or Z amount of watts doesn't necessarily mean it has to //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

well i dont know how the Xs are but iv used the type Rs and rated at 70rms but ran them with 75 and they were kinda weak. now i run them with 125rms each side and they are alot better. so you may or maynot want to give yours more power

What size speaker do you need? Either way, I think the Alpine Type-X is a great pick for an SQ-oriented system. Don't worry about the wattage. The Alpines can take it and if you set your gains properly, you won't have any worries.

this isn't for money or trophy. i have no need to spend that kind of money. so far from my studies, most people say type x is my best bet at the $200 range. so add to that or hush it big dawg!! and lift that truck and get some proper use out of it! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif i didnt mean anything rude by that ... i just have a shit talking problem ... its more fun that way.

yea since 30" mickeys would make it run like a 10 1/4 mile?????? O I beg to differ about the 200$ thing there is alot better for that price

i just figure the 5.25's will be sharper on the voice stuff. i plan on having 6.5 mid bass as well. but if the 5.25 and 6.5 woofer aren't going to show much difference in voice qualities, i will just go with the 6.5 component and 6.5 mid bass so they match up on wattage.

riiiigggghhhhhttttt ... now lets do similiar work to the sti ... or a civic for that matter!! HAHAHAHAHA! just kiddin on that last part //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
