SQ and rap?

Well, 70's rock has its time and place and when Im in the mood I also play Styx, CCR, Beatles, Eagles, other great music from the 70s.

But most of the time when I am ridin in my truck I like to listen to rap. Just my personal preference, although I enjoy all types of music.

"SQ" subs are not as desired for rap for two reasons:
1. Rap music is not as dynamic; tone, timbre, etc. is not as important for rap either.

2. The type of people who listen to rap have no taste in music in the first place.

There is detail in rap, maybe not a lot, but it's there in some songs and it requires a good SQL/SQ sub to bring it out.

Check out TI. His songs usually have a lot of different deep bass notes that play musically.

I could probably say the same for alot of stuff that you listen to. To each his own.

rap is only there for its beat and rythm. If you want words, go listen to country. I personally only play rap when i want to hear a nice beat, that or some nice club/dance/techno, only stuff i lsten to in my car, unless im with a chick, then its up to them (ipod ftw)

Any fool with gold teeth can get on the mic and slur some 2nd grade rhymes.

There are two classifications of rap.

Shit, and Meaningful.

if you are on the mix screaming and telling me how big the rims on your hummer are and then say how many people you shot with your AK...when you really hardly know how to opperate a 22 caliber hand gun...then turn around and I never see another song from you agian... I wont even bother to purchase your CD.

If it has meaning, then it is fine by me...if it is shit, you will only hear it in my truck when people tell me to outquake some fool on the otherside of the parking lot or when giving demos...or if I just feel like a good massadge. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

in rock, they usually use live instruments so to get a subwoofer to play those live instruments means you're a retard because everybody knows the instruments in rock songs and garbage metal i mean death metal are live instruments and rarely have synthesized bass. when has anyone ever pounded on a drum set and caused the house/floor to shake WITHOUT USING SPEAKERS //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif?? never. live instruments rarely dip into the low subsonic frequency spectrum so again to use a subwoofer of any kind, especially a higher-end subwoofer, would be absurd because you're using a driver to amplify a frequency it shouldnt be amplifying therefore meaning youre a noob. synthesized bass is more commonly used by rap and can dip very very low because it is digitally oscillated to do so, so the rap listeners are actually the ones who make better use of the higher-end subs. those that say the lower end subs will do just fine for rap are those lacking in audiophilic knowledge, have shit for taste, and are too swayed by their own ignorant biases to understand what good music even is.

so everyone using a hig end subwoofer for Rock music is wasting their money? yea...

Wow.

Just wow.

But on the other hand, I feel better about my self now.

Synthesized bass = easy to reproduce perfectly generated frequencies

Live instrument = hard to replicate sound of instrument

There is an obvious lack of understanding on your part.

And I mean that in the nicest way possible.
