Sponsorships

o lord.. I would never sponsor a car looking like that. Its a mercury cougar for gods sake not meant to be painted in candy paint or whatever that is. The body kit it absolutely terrible. The system aint to shabby but the outside with the whale tail is killing me and saying RICE all day.

The only way YOU are going to get sponsored is if YOU go out and approach companies.. you are a nobody so dont expect them to come to you.

They definitely will not sponsor someone with no money..

Your car still needs a lot of work.. a lot of money and time invested in it..

No audio company is going to give you equipment if you dont have money to completely redo the interior and more of the exterior to show winning quality.

Remember their are HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of kids with hot cars.. why would they pick you over them?

saying RICE?? hmm with a built up 3.0 that im pretty sure would kill anything you got yea okay def doesnt sound like one of those lil honda civics or eclipses out there, tell me this how many cougars do you see modified yea thats what i thought, everything on there has to be pretty much customized with lots of fabricating, yea i know there still a lot left to do, im currently working on a air ride suspension for this thing, which by the was has to be custom made for. and as for the inteior the dash is refiberglassed and painted to match the outside, black leather seats with matching kamelon leather which i doubt anyone else has, countless monitors through out the inside, gaming system, need i to go on, so far the car is appraised at 25k + and im not even halfway done with it, next on my list is lambo doors, air ride suspension, reverse hood(which i yet again half to fabricate myself) bigger rims, and a new Stereo system

and for the body kit being terriable what is wrong with the body kit??? lets see in just the past two shows, MDA car show and Springtime showdown its has taken 2 1st places, 2 SPL phatest car, and 2 SPL phatest installs, hmm seems to me like the people like what they see yea exactly stfu and get out my thread if all you going to do is hate

I was actually building up a 1985 Cub Cadet Garden tractor with a V twin harley engine to compete MINI SPL.....I have done STOCK SPL in my Tahoe and wanted to venture in to something different. The tractor is still in project mod, but coming along.....I hit SCOTT ATWELL up after he sold RE and was starting up Fi.......we spoke back and forth, but he was not looking for any vehicles until he got the ball rolling.

Got pics of any of the custom interior stuff?
yea i got a few on here of the dash piece i just made for it, i have a flip out and with the cougars design the stock double din radio piece recesses in from the rest of the dash, so the flip out would slide out and hit the dash not allowing it to open all the way, so what i did was moved the A/C controls down to where radio spot is and the radio up to the A/C location, bad thing was is the controls are about half inch wider than the radio so it took some major fiberglassing to get this thing lookin perfect i bet i have over 25 hours in just this one piece, next time i go out to the shop ill get pics of the actual interior

Next is installing a monitor into the steering wheel //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Getting a sponsorship without dealer and/or installer support is very difficult. Since most folks here are DIY type of folks, most manufacturers aren't going to give you the time of day. But if you are working closely with a shop that is an authorized dealer of the products that you're trying to get sponsored for, it can be a bit easier.

I love my sponsors, Thank you guys = )

It took me about 10 years of competing at a high level to be in the position I am in now. I get noticed at shows and people pay attention to my systems. So it makes it worth it for my sponsors. Besides I they are all a great bunch of guys and we are like brothers now.

It is increasingly more difficult to get sponsored nowadays since there isnt a whole lot of money in competitions anymore. You are more likely to have a good chance if you have good showings at shows like Hot Import Nights. Rack up about 10 wins a season at NCCA shows and get a magazine spot and that will put you in the running for sponsorships.

There is now a group called http://www.carsponsorships.com I don't think it is a real sponsorship, but rather a group discount thing through a mass distributor. Worth a shot though.

Wow lots of time and money in your ride, lots of fabrication, but it looks like it would turn heads up and down the block.

More audio improvements before you put a moniter in the steering wheel please..

I'll be honest

I hate the choice in cars. I do, straight up and Honestly.

I do however think that you made some decent choices. Stereo isnt bad at all, clean install by the way. The fiberglassed interior looks good from what I can see, and although I'm not a huge fan of the color, it's not that bad, and for a Cougar it looks **** good.

Rims are a big no-no for me, that's it though

Looks good
