splicing remote wire?

I have 2 amps. one for fronts and one for subs. My HU is an alpine CDA-9815. Since i have only one remote wire I was wondering if splicing that 1 wire into 2 wires to operate the 2 amps i have might decrease the "signal".

I plan to build an amp box as well. There will be 2 fans to cool it. I have been told to buy a relay and run my remote wire into that as well. How would i go about properly wiring this?

should be fine. the remote wire is only supposed to send a very small signal to turn the amp on/off.

if you plan to add more cmponents to the remote turn on, use a relay to give each component a full 12v

The relys cost a buck or two, you just one the remote wire to one metal nob, and a constant wire to another nob, then you put the wire you want to turn on on a third nob. It explains it at http://www.partsexpress.com/
