Spl?....

To tell ya the truth I have never owned a Hifonics or even seen one in an installation but they seem popular on these forums. I've heard the Rf and Alpines though.

on the hiFon amps, if you want 1000 watts, get the 1500 watt amp, want 1500, look at their 'rated' 2000 watt amp, etc... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

how high could it be?

from what ive heard differences in distortion rationgs in amps arenbt even audible anyways.. especally when the ratings are like are fractions of percentages. most of your distortion comes from the driver IMO and if you were this paranoid about almost inaudible distortion then you wouldnt be going with hifonics anyways.. or kicker/alpine for that matter.

i may be wrong, but really i wouldnt worry about it.

Well, you need to push the Hifonics to ~10% distortion to even get close to full power out of them:

And yes, 10% would clearly be audible.

So, like Tracy said; if you want a true, "low distortion" 1500w from the Brutus, you'll need to get the "2000w" amp.

YO!! get which ever ones you want. I personally would go with the Type R's Just because I feel that they have a little better SQ. The cvr's also pound given the right power and in the right enclosure. As far as how loud they are. Id say about the same...maybe the Type R's have a little edge over them

yeah i totally see your point. but thats basically because they overrate thier amps. he could get a fairly clean 1300 watts from the bx1500d, so its not that amp thats horrible with distortion, its having to push it so hard to get the rated power.
