Last night i was pretty wasted and blew my CW12. Well actually it didnt blow, the spider landing glue failed and it peeled off causing the voice coil to pop out and not enter back into the motor structure, leaving the speaker at pretty much full x max.

Left it like it was and went back inside to end st pattys day. Anyways, everything is good i just need to re glue the spider back on. I have no idea what glue to use or how long to clamp it down there. Might even clamp it with some steel clips just to make sure it doesnt happen again.

your problem will be that you have no way of making sure your newly glued spider\landing is aligned for the gap. if its off by like 1cm you have a chance of rubbing and your coil burning\shorting\melting\car catching fire\house exploding\brains eated\penis melted\******* molested\world being eaten by a giant cat\ect.

it happens.

That Gorilla Glue shit is nuts. I saw it in Home Depot a while back, and squirted out the smallest drop onto the shelf and stuck the bottle on it and it stayed there. As far as I know it would work well here.

Wrong. that glue not only expands, but it would dry way to fast for his app

CA glue is super glue. The CA we use has an acclerator that allows you to speed the drying process after you put it together

You can purchase CA glue at a hobby shop... its the same stuff used to glue on RC car tires

Yeah, but just to let everyone know, CA isnt a brand. Look at glues for the ingredient: cyno acrylite. Thats what CA glue is. I prefer the Loctite brand, but anything works. Its used for a variety of purposes, and you can also purchase it at ACE and stores like that.

thats messed up about your sub.

like said before without having a way of 100% aligning your coil perfect researching diff. types of glue is useless, the only thing i can think of is to remove the entire cone assembly and do a recone so that you're sure the coil is aligned

we dont' want the world eaten by a cat

wrong, CW's spider landings can easily be re-aligned from the outside in but just matching up the screws for the spider landing. CW's are user reconeable, one of the reasons that Massive makes kickass subs, even if people abuse the shit out of em.

Quite possibly one of the funniest posts I've seen here.
