special wiring for 2 channel?

The difference between one and the other will be that one kit has a 2ch set of interconnects included with it (2 connectors on each end of the cable) and the other has a 4ch set (4 connectors on each end of the cable)

Neither is inherently better than the other but if you're hooking up a 4ch amp the 4ch cables simply make for a more convenient install only needing to run the one 4ch set of interconnects rather than two separate 2ch sets.

That's the only difference - there's nothing "special" about them.

can i just use a mono amp kit? i didnt know there were special wires for a 2 channel amp...
I guess I'm a bit lost as to what you're meaning with the "special wires."

An amp, regardless of how many channels it is (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or more) needs power, ground, remote activation, signal input (these are your RCAs) and speaker output wires.

The exceptions would be if your HU/amp conbination uses some sort of proprietary communication cable from one to the other - like the 2004 and newer eXcelon amps will connect to the eXcelon HUs via the same cable you would use to connect a CD changer and this allows for various functions unavailable otherwise.

Alpine's Ai-Net connection works much the same...

But as far as just getting it hooked up and working?

I'm not getting what you're meaning by "special" wires...
