Hey,

looking to upgarde all 4 door speakers as well as a head unit in my car.

i have these picked out

( 2005 Toyota Highlander NO JBL SOUND SYSTEM )

is it a good buy? can i get cheaper? i like the installation gear crutchfield includes

the Polk DXis were very unimpressive to me.

Whats your budget for speakers?

$200 for all 4 , maybe ~$100 for the dash

Pioneer TS D1720C ( I have em and love em and so do many others)

or

Boston Acoustics S60

Morel Maximos too

to get the best out of any of these you will need to add an amp though.

hmmm, good question. I have no experience with your car so IDK how deep they are, but the Pioneers are only 2.5inches deep and they fit into my very shallow kick panels. but you might wanna do more research or measuring before you buy some, to be sure they fit

Infinity kappa speakers are good too. Check with what you would like to buy, and compare prices on e-bay /other stores and get the best deal.Kickers sound great as well.IMO

They make a pair to fit your vehicle i am sure. Go to Crutchfield.com, and put your vehicle info in, and it will tel you what size speakers are a direct fit, and some that may have to be installed with brackets. Once you have determined what size speaker will fit in the locations, then you can shop for all brands, and different stores for the best price, is what I usually do

From what I can gather they are 6x9's in the front.

Bro get a ruler out and measure the depth. I mean for all u know you only got 1" to wrk with and no speakers will wrk without mods. Takes what 10mins to pop a panel.

allright will do, do i measure a little bit smaller so the speaker does not hit the back of the door?

U dont want the mag to hit anything so yes. Also, you may have to wry about the tracks on ur window if you go to deep you could run into issues with rolling ur window down.
