speakers smelling

i just hooked up my pioneer speakers to an amp and within a few minutes man they started to smell . what it smelled like hard to explain, but very obvious.the amp is a 2 chanell 200 watts max so i figured its around 50 rms a chanell.the speakers are 50 watts. dont know if i blew them or ?. gains turned way down.

alright my suggestions to would be be to first check your wiring make sure that nothing is wired up wrongly then if that is alright check to make sure that the amp can handle the subs how much RMS are the subs? cause the amp may not be able to power the subs you got so check that to?

x2 on checking the wiring. Make sure the polarity isn't backwards.

it also could be the excess glue burning off. happens all the time for new woofers.
