Speakers making POP sound. WTF

Yes, I've looked through the many threads concerning this issue but none seem to be exactly what's happened in my situation.

Long story short.

Direct swap from AUTOTEK MM 100.4 (with no problems what so ever) to JBL GTO 75.4

problem: Every time I start turn the car on when the amp clicks on there is a loud boost of signal that goes to the front components *POP*.

I don't think its any wiring issues seeing that I just swapped amp for amp.

Anything I should check????

Thanks for the link. If nothing else works i'll go this route.

Changing my remote turn on to another source might help you think???

many newer amps have a "soft" turn on etc. some times they fail...... it happened to an amp i had a while back.

Sounds like a defective amp to me. I am sure you have checked but those pops are usually a ground issue with the deck or amp. But if you checked all that then its probably the amp.

Does it only do it on cold turn on? have you tried it after you play some music for 10-20 min?

It plays fine minus the "humming" most likely Ground noise coming from the RCA's.

The pop happens as soon as it gets any juice. car off or car on

that sounds like your power wire is too close to your rcas same thing happen in my blazer this was the case

sounds like the amps bad
