speakers getting too much bass

What kind of component amp do you have? You might just have to turn the bass down on the H/U and turn your sub's gains up. My insides are actually doing the same, I really need to fix that...

no component amp. yea, my hu settings are bass -2, treble -2, subwoofer is +15, gain on amp is barley up for sub break-in time. MX(media xpander is on 2(out of three)

btw, how long do my CVR12's need for break in?

I have an orion 600D and got everything tuned pretty good so far. But I can hear my front and back speakers distort and bottom out, what can I do for them so that only my sub gett ALL the bass? is my HPF set wrong?

You mentioned your Orion amp, but that's not powering the afflicted speakers, so no way of knowing what high-pass filter you refer to. If you don't have an actual HPF for your mids, you can build simple crossovers to help out.

check here for info

Note: these will shift the phase from slight to heavy, depending on the uF and mH or combination of the two. After installation, it may be necessary to experiment with flipping your + and - wires on pairs of speakers to "listen" for an audible gain in sound, particularly in the lower frequencies. When you hear it (if you hear it), that's the phase you wanna stick with.

It's actually a little more complicated than that, but there it is, in a nut-shell.

Cheers
