Speakers for a 1997 Jetta?

Whats up guys, been a while since I have been interested in stereo upgrades..

So I bought a 1997 Jetta and I want to upgrade the speakers a bit. I don't want to get crazy, I am just looking for some drop in 6.5" and the possibility of upgrading the dashboard speakers if possible.

Does anyone have recommendations for speakers? I am looking to spend 350-450 canadian all in if that is possible. I think that is more than reasonable to get all my speakers replaced.

Stuff I already have:

Pioneer Premier 12" sub and box

MB Quart 500.1 Amp

Pioneer MVH-P8200 head unit (can't post the link to it since I don't have any posts..)

that should be nice...with that good of a headunit...id recomend an amp for your front speakers as well...get a quality amp

Definitally amp up the front speakers.

However, there a several good speakers in that range.

Type R/X, Lanzar Opti, many more.... just gotta amp em up

Honestly thought I set up this in the Speakers forum and not GD, apparently I am an idiot.

What sort of amp should I be looking at? Am I going to need one for the front and one for the back speakers?
