yup, the poly mids are very nice. You should be able to bring in a whole comp set for around 150. But that option only works if you want to go active. If you want ease of install, woofersetc.com is running a special on CDT components. CDT makes a nice product and are made for sq. Plus, woofersetc is an authorized online dealer, so you get full warranty along with a great price.

i like the ascendant poly mids but never liked "poly" sound much...

personally, if you are only interested in sq and not loudness, i'd go for peerless exclusive 7". very detailed almost as good as seas lotus woofer but in comparison has weaker midbass.(not saying that it doesn't have great midbass)

pair that up with a good pair of tweets (don't know what kind of sound you want so i won't suggest anything for now)

run active or passive depends on preferance (ease of use, etc, etc)

P.S. if you want to run passive, you can either build your own crossover or buy premade ones from partsexpress. imho they are much better than most xovers in component systems because of the materials they use.

You can not go wrong with these comps here, i am using them and amp very pleased with the SQ reproduction. These speakers make the music sound full and very natural that i really love.

Thanks for all the input, I'm gonna go with one of the CDT's do you think there is all that much difference between the CDT CL-61 ($170) and the CDT EF-61FG ($200). I'll probably run them off the h/u (Alpine 9856), and get an amp later.

Also with rear fill I' probably leave the stock speakers, also I have one 12w3v3

I'd go eith the Efs. For the extra $30, it's worth the upgrade.
