Speakers cutting out!

Greetings,

FNG here! I just joined to gain some knowledge concerning an issue I'm having with a new installation.

I installed a Pioneer DEH-X3900BT CD receiver in a GMC Savanna. I used an adapter to connect to the factory wiring harness. I also installed (2) JBL GTO638 6.5" 3-way speakers in addition to (2) Pioneer TS-G1645R 6.5" speakers.

The problem I'm having is after running on auxiliary for about 5 minutes the speakers crackle and fade out. In another test, I started the engine and when I turned the headlights on the sound faded immediately.

I'm guessing I need a separate amp to drive the speakers. Advice?
