speakers cutting out

in my van i tryed using the places where the stock speakers go and just power them with my headunit but when i turn them up a little bit the cut out and sound staticky. all the speakers in the van do. i now have them on an amp but what could be the problem with the wiring?

clipping, not enough power for them and probably x-over point on deck is way too low.

the speakers will only work at high volume and then they cut out and are staticky
