Topic pretty much says the main problem.. heres the details..

Gotta mtx Thunder 2150X amp and Im trying to hook it up to my CDT CL-61As, Get all my wires together and I turn the gain up a little but get no feedback from my speakers... then I press the other buttons on the amp.. There's a "Crossover" button and a Button to switch between HP/LP.. So I press the Crossover button and then I press the button and set it to "HP" but I don't actually change the frequency..

in any case my speakers tune in but when I hopped back in the car and turned the volume up a little, the speakers cut out

Don't wanna fool around with it until I get some advice.. thanks

no its just a small 2 channel amp going straight to my components..

i figure there not clipping because the amp puts out 75x2 @ 4 ohms @ 12.5V and the CDTs are rated for 80-90W RMS.. Unless somehow I wired them wrong and there at 2 ohms or something but I doubt that.. plus the gain is only turned up a realll small bit

hmm could it be because only one set of speakers was plugged in? I think my right side speakers were unplugged at the time

anybody?... check out my last post, maybe i had them wired wrong bc i only had one side of my front stage hooked up
Weell......did you connect the drivers on the right and then turn on your stereo to see if it corrected the problem? You'd be imminently more qualified (since you're like....there) to see if it had any effect on your gear than we are....

nah ya see... the reason i only connected one side was because Im not sure which wire on the other side is my tweeter wire... im gonna have to plug that in and find my tweeter wire and then connect all wires..

im just wondering if plugging in one side and one side only would have caused my speakers to clip and turn off?
