Speaker wire????????????

I have a 04 nissan titan. I put re audio xxx comps in the rear, so i ran new speaker wire from the amp to them. The problem is the speaker wire keeps splitting and cracking due to the rear doors opening so far Is there a company that makes speaker wire that will hold up? I have 16gauge rockford in it right now. Any help would be great!

Why don't you just run like an extra foot and leave slack around the area??

I did but the rear doors open all the way to the box. Then the wire has to coil back up for the door to shut. It only cracks were it coils.

Are you not running the wire through the little boot meant for wires?

the problem is the door opens past 90 degrees, something like 120 or 135 I think. I have run wires to my KC doors I just zip tied them to the existing wires IRC, I haven't had any problems, though I haven't run power to those since my second system I put in. You might also check, there was a recall for the wires that run to the seatbelt lock or something like that, but it had to do with the same problem you are having with your speaker wire. I'll try and get a picture of how I have mine run. You might also hit up titantalk.com and see how others have run theirs.

I wouldve taped it before I put it in. I used some Monster THX 16 gauge wire but I heavily taped the areas there the door opens and closes

I had loom on there, but it got brittle with the cold, and started breaking off, since I don't run speakers back there anymore, I just haven't taken the time to remove the speakers, or the wire.

Wow I use cheap a$$ wire and have never had any problens with the jacketing spliting, whether your doors open 360 degrees that shouldn't matter, its just when they bend correct? I live in a widely fluctuating area of temperature and my radio Shack wire/Lowes wire holds up just fine...Very wierd...

Not saying anyone has to spend that much on wire, but if you can get 50 or so feet of that for a price in your range, it might be worth a look.

^^^ that stuff there is brittle. 50 feet of the first one I showed you can be had for 20 bucks. Small price to pay for decent speaker wire.

I did rockford wire because i sold rockford! Now i only sell tsunami. I may try there competition series(twisted+heavy coating). Thanks for the input guy's. I will keep you updated. Oh and any more input would be great!
