Speaker wire into door....

WTF! I got 100 foot of speaker wire and went to run it though the door just a min ago and have no idea how I'm ever going to do that.. [?|]

Figured it would go though the rubber boot just like any other car I've put speakers in but no... It has to be all complicated..

welcome to Ford. they use that little nifty molex plug. it's a PITA to run wire through unless you have molex connectors to reconnect your new speaker wire. this is the reason I hate working on Ford's

My Dodge was the same way. I hate it, it's just another weak connestion where something has a chance to go wrong. But it seems as though this is the norm nowadays. Here is what i did:

I went a little lower than the OEM wiring bundle and drilled a hole. I did the same thing in the door, just make sure you inspect thoroughly behind where you are gonna drill to make sure you don't drill into something important.

Throw a protective grommet into the hole

And stick some wire loom protector over the wire and you're done!

Try to be as even as possible in the distance of your holes, this way when the door closes and the wire bends, it will be less likely to pinch in the wrong spots instead of being free in the crack behind the door.

Eidt: and you may have to remove the door in order to get the correct angle and location for the hole
