Speaker wire - does brand matter?

I am in the market for speaker wire and need to know if it matters what brand or spec I buy, aside from the size. For my Alpine PDX 4.150 I plan to use 16g wire.

Who sells nice quality wire that isn't crazy money?

I payed through the nose for Kicker S-series wire, just to match the 0/1 and 4awg power wire...

i usually always get knukonceptz wire, but i couldnt pass up 19 cents per foot w/ free shipping for 16 gauge stinger wire at sounddomain.

I always liked Knu products. Just get something that has + and - clearly identified. Makes the install a lot easier. Don't pay for brand names...unless it REALLY is the weak link in a $10,000 set up. Then, and only then IMO should you pay for wire.
