Speaker suggestions for my Jeep?

The brightness of the tweeters depends on placement with the focal's. You can always adjust DOWN on the treble, instead of cranking it wide open & clipping the amplifier which could damage the speakers...

Having too much is not a problem (turn it down, just like sub bass). At the same time you don't want a speaker to sound dull. You want crisp, accurate, detailed treble...

When choosing speakers it's tough. you should listen to them to get a idea of what you like.. Running the Focal's off a radio is just fine, thousands of people do it everyday. Will a amp help? yes, but you can buy a $1,000 amp to power $50 speakers...it will still sound like a $50 speakers.... You can spend $1000 on speakers with a $50 amp & they will sound like $1000 speakers still....but not at their full potential!

Please just go to a shop, listen to the focal Access/Integration series coaxials.... Then listen to everything else they have, it will be a easy choice! You will probably love them, but if not...atleast you know what you do like! All speakers sound different, use YOUR ears!!

Thanks! I will try to give the Focals a listen.

I have another question. How would buying some Image Dynamic or similar speakers for around $140 and using the extra $110 to line my doors with Dynamat compare to spending all my money on a set of Focal speakers?

Those id's are supposed to be nice, but the company is no longer is buisness. One thing to remember though any of the comps you are looking at wont get as loud as your factory or produce hardly any bass untill you get them amped. However the sq and detailing will be much better. Just depends on how much you wanna spend. I am very very happy with my morels , I was looking at several kinds, but when they had them on sale for $85 well I couldn't pass them up.

Try to have a ultimate goal $$$ wise & try to stop close. Damping (dynamat) your doors are a great idea & worth every penny. I would do Focal speaker, then amp, then dampen your door. At that point you will be extremely happy. I don't think right now, $110 for damping w/ cheap speakers are worth it... Be careful with ID as they are not the same company & might have warranty issues in the future.

Thanks man. I missed this amazing deal on Focals....can't believe it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gifFocal 165VB Polyglass 6.5" 2-Way Component System - Limit 2 Per Customer(FOC165VB) and other affordable Component Systems at 6ave.com. I can still get them for around $200 new on eBay....not sure if that's worth it?

Otherwise I kinda had these in mind since they are a wonderful price. They also are very shallow, so they would easily fit in my door with minimal modding. Incriminator Audio I Series 6.5" Components

What I am kind of looking to do is get great speakers (just not the best of best), and then get an amp sooner. I just can't see myself spending over $200 for front comps now, then having to spend probably another $200 on an amp, $75 or so for deadening, and then probably another $100 for rear coaxes. I know this will give me the best setup in the end, but I'm not sure I'm ready to put that much money in yet. I'm guessing a lot of speakers are gonna be a wonderful improvement over the stock speakers?

Those incriminators are on a good sale right now, i almost bought some myself. But i got the morels instead. I wanna hear those incriminators. someone needs to try them. They look nice. MB Quart Q4.80 (Q480) Q-Series 4-Channel Car Amplifier (this would be a great amp to run those on and will give you 2 more channels for the rear coaxials. Those incriminator coaxials are only $80. That would be pretty cheap for everything and should be a very nice setup for the price. As far as your wiring kit for the amp i recomend Knukoncepts. Fatmat is the cheapest descent dampner i know of, also you might think about some deflex pads behind those speakers.
