speaker question

i was wondering if i should get some kickpanels and put some components in em or get some 5x7 components and put em in the stock places?

Where is the stock location?

If the stock location is in the door I would say hell yes go for the 5x7 components.

If the stock location is in the dash..... you might be better going with them in the kickpanels (components are made to be clear.. not bouncing off a windshield).

if it were my truck i wouldnt bother with kicks. i would make my own plate to fit that 6x8" hole and either throw some bomb *** 6-1/2" components in them. what are you going to power these with by the way?

Oh yeah I forgot that option... you could just use some ABS plastic and make an adapter to fit 6 1/2s into the 5x7 cutout.

i found some diamond audio 5x7 components, and i'll more than likely be powerin them with a DHD 200x4

If kicks are an option; do it.

I honestly have no idea why those other guys are getting all giddy over door mounted comps.

its just kick panels wouldnt really work great, because i have a parking brake petal and qforms are slanted down and facing the side just like the door speakers so they prolly wouldn't be all that great either, i just thought about getting the adaptor plates and puttin 5 1/4 components in the doors

Well there are tons of options out there -- what kinda budget were you looking at?

150-180 range, i found the diamond audios for like 135, and i found some image dyanmic idq 5 1/4 comps for 150
