Speaker problem

I've have a problem with my components. I've had them for about a month and a half how and this just started. What happens is I'll be driving and whenever I slow down it starts to make a scrachy noise or one side completely turns off. I've searched and One solution someone recommended was to run a power wire straight to the battery. Is this safe to do? Also, are there any other solutions to this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

What are you running the amp power wire to know if it is not going to the battery? if you mean the ground then yes it is better to run it to the bat. when you run the ground to the chaise you are basically using the cars frame as a wire to run it to the battery.
