Speaker help..5.25"

im looking to get new front and rear speakers. i need 5.25 in the front and 5.25 in the rear. i want them to sound real clean and loud.they will be amped.if you have any suggestions that would be great. price range would be whatever it takes to get effecient sound. lower the better though.

If you are planning on using an amp, you may want to look into a set of components. There are quite a few decent sets out there at reasonable prices.

yeah thats what im thinkin. do you know anything for a good price? im not lookin to have the loudest set out there just something better than my type s's im using now.

I have personally heard a set of these, and they sounded pretty good for the money. Heard them on a 2-channel amp getting around 80watts a side.

The RSD series components are highly recommended around here. I haven't been able to hear a set personally, though, so I can't comment on how they sound. But, if you judge from the feedback here, they are a great way to go.

yeah and they are reasonably priced. ill be using a 4channel amp that will do...

Specifications -

4 x 200W RMS @ 4 Ohm Stereo

4 x 400W RMS @ 2 Ohm Stereo

2 x 800W RMS @ 4 Ohm Mono

how would i wire these at 4 ohms? i know its too big of an amp but thats all i got layin around at the moment.

No such thing as too big of an amp if you know how to set your gains correctly. All that leaves is headroom, which is a good thing in the event the upgrade bug bites, which it usually does.

They are all 4-ohm sets. Just run speaker wires from amp to crossover, then from crossover to tweeter and crossover to woofer.
