I having problems with the speakers in my truck. I never know which ones will work at any given time. I may have a right rear and left front working or just the front speakers working and not the rear etc. I have replaced the stock radio but it didn't fix the problem. Is this a problem with the wiring harness perhaps???

Thanks

HU? Amps? Speakers? Makes, models, etc. Need more info. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

The stock system is what was giving me the problems. Standard system (not the Bose). Standard HU with stock front and rear door speakers. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. A different speaker may work each time I get in the truck. And different speakers will start working at any time while driving. I replaced the HU but the problem persists.

Did you replace the stock HU with another stock HU? It sounds like the wires to the speakers themselves may be loose...or they may be loose in the harness to the HU.
He says he replaced the HU. You could have a wire grounding out that could cause this. Pull the panels and see if you have any loose connections.

Before replacing the HU I had pulled one door panel and checked the connection and it seemed OK to me. I have three speakers that will come on sporadically, and one rear speaker that doesn't come on at all. Both of the stock tweeters in the front doors still work though. It's just the other door speakers giving me the trouble. Would speakers behave like this if they were blown????

No, it sounds like the problem may be at the source, namely the harness at the HU. Check the pins on the speaker outs and see if any are loose. It sounds too widespread to be the speakers themselves.

I'll go ahead and check the connections of the harness at the HU. I have also ordered a pair of speakers for the the front doors that I will install as well. I wanted to replace those anyway. I'll let know what I find. Thanks.

I had bought some Polk Audio Db651 coaxial speakers to put in the front doors. It looks like the stock speakers are a component set. Is there anything special I need to do to replace these with the coaxials??

I'm having the same problem with my Silverado Classic too. I have the AM/FM CD player RDS system. Four speakers. My rear right speaker isn't working (I checked the connections and the wires are connected) and my other three are working, but they sound thin and no bass response at all. Is it a wire grounding out? It's driving me crazy! Sometimes when I get in and crank the truck up they'll work for a while and then go back to sounding thin. Please help.. Thanks
