i know its been asked time and time again, but i could not get an answer from searching, just alot of non related stuff. Just need to know if 2" behind the pole vent on a sub will be enough in a sealed box. sub is an fi-q 15"
What was his rationale for that?According to Dickason, you want at least 3" for a speaker, which is nowhere near the pole vent size of a subwoofer.
x2, thats the rule I have always followed and I have never had a problemThe minimum is usually the diameter of the pole vent. The reason being that the vent can be restricted for 1) optimum cooling of the motor and 2) restricting air flow through the pole vent will alter the sub's T/S parameters.
JL is a slanderous *****!3"? JL States all it needs is 3/4 of an inch at the least
To be quite honest, I didn't understand it at all. It's in the 6th ed. of the LDC. The book still still WAAAY over my head, so I couldn't even argue the point if I tried //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifWhat was his rationale for that?
