i know its been asked time and time again, but i could not get an answer from searching, just alot of non related stuff. Just need to know if 2" behind the pole vent on a sub will be enough in a sealed box. sub is an fi-q 15"

I usually go by the radius of the pole vent (if it has one), try and keep at least that distance away from a surface.

According to Dickason, you want at least 3" for a speaker, which is nowhere near the pole vent size of a subwoofer.

The minimum is usually the diameter of the pole vent. The reason being that the vent can be restricted for 1) optimum cooling of the motor and 2) restricting air flow through the pole vent will alter the sub's T/S parameters.

x2, thats the rule I have always followed and I have never had a problem
