why would someone buy a maximus....if they don't plan on letting it live ver long?

Yes...absolutely true. And because of the clips...etc...amp protection is crucial. Let me give you a great example...I have a customer with a Hifonics Maximus amplifier: stock alternator, 4 yellow tops...and cranking it all day long everywhere he goes. Still hasn't upgraded his electrical system after much advise.
