Uhm you said the ss clamped 1500 watts at 1.1 ohm vs 1000 watts at 2.6 ohms. At a proper 1 ohm load the vfl will smoke that SS

i see. As far as reliable my SS has been more then reliable. Never protected running under 1 ohm or even got to hot alittle warm of course though. From what i have read the 30 mins the 150.1 is pretty much a 1500 watt at 1 ohm amp. of course it will do more do wired below 1 though.
with the tests ive read and videos ive seen now im not sure if it will make more then my SS honestly. Not saying the SS is a better amp, but power wise it seems to edge. I seen a clamp from Iraggi and it did alittle over 1500 @ 1ohm(1.15) rising from .5 at 13v i believe. He said its a 1500 watt amp.

Just because yours hasn't blown up yet doesn't make it a good amp or reliable.

I woudnt waste my time trading for an amp that has similar power. Look for a 5k and set the gains where you need it. Way more reliable not working at capacity and headroom is always good to prevent clipping.

I'm not saying they are just great amp but it by no means a bad amp. Especially for the cost vs say a 2k amp by other companies though this is rated 2500 at 1ohm. The amp doesn't do right at rated but what 200-300 watts short of it and those tests did show clean power. I've owned a for a couple years never protected or got hot. I ran it at.5 for a year and a half. Hell even tfades test wasn't negative about it. Said it didn't quite do rated but not a bad amp and handle the .5 ohm(wired to .5 riding to actually) very well
