I would say the soundstream is better. I have a 1606D hifonics that I don't really like alot. Might be mine, but I still say the soundstream

Both companies imo probably made better amps in the past. Soundstream referance series-the blue ones- are regarded as really good SQ amps.

The older Hifonics amps are tough to beat for SPL and raw power.

right but your 2000d's are not 2 channels....

will a L5 take 1200 watts ? also the hifonics looks to be more efficient...

for the prices you are wanting to pay are there no better options?

ya caught me..i didnt read the entire thread.

ehh..one of my teammates had 2 12 L5's on an opti2000d and i though 1k each was pushin it. 1200 might be alittle over the top.

oh, and he had coil smoke like a mother.

well what will u sugest..and also i heard that hifonics are a little bit overrated from a caraudio shop that sells them!! lol if so then what wil u think the hifonics BXi 1206D will put out like around 1000 watts rms at 1 ohm?..and i want to know will it be safe to run 1 15' L5 at 1 ohm at this kind of amp?...mybad i was writing this and when i was done i saw what you wrote....so if you think 1200 watts going into the L5 should i just keep it at 2ohms and just get the 900 watts?

900-1000 would be as far as i could push it max. 700-800 if you wanna play it safe?
