ok i have 2 powerbass single voice coil 10's wired in a parallel, rated for 600Wrms@2ohm, i need to decide between these amps

Rockford fosgate prime r500.1 $210

mb quart discus 1000.1 $189

Soundstream picasso Pcx700d $229

Phoenix gold xenon 600.1 $249

the only one i dont like too much is the prime because it has those stupid cheap batt connections, and the mb quart is normally $620 so idk if ill be ripped off, and the soundstream looks good but i want another opinion

and how do i properly do that when i cant find a test cd

i also was looking at a kicker zx500.1

go slow and by ear with music till you start to hear distortion and back it off a tad and call it a day

but why would the amp distort if its overpowering the subs? or would it be the subs that are distorting from too much power?

the subs would. i never power subs with anything less than 25% more than rms for headroom and rise. hell i run 1100 to 600 watt subs daily!

and for the price the quart 1000 or the pg are a steal.

yea but they might be factory seconds so im actually turning to kicker, and i think im going to get the zx750.1 and i also need a quick tutorial on how to set gain using a dmm and a 50hz 0db test cd

if you set the gains right you shouldn't have a problem with that amp. i was running my L10d's off of a jl 1000/1 with out them even heating up
